Zagi-Lite, THL

The All EPP Zagi-THL or (Zagi-Lite) is made of resilient expanded polypropylene (EPP) foam and renforced with 2 carbon fiber spars. This combat proven building technique provides light weight durability at a low price. The new ZAGI-THL has the Original Zagi-THS's low drag profile. Flying weight is only 14 ounces providing a loading of only 4 oz/sq.ft.  with a four channel RX and 270 mAh battery pack. Although this version of the THL weighs 3 ounces more than the original, the wing loading is the same. This was achieved by increasing the wing area. So the new THL will perform in light lift as good as the original.

The Zagi THL flies well in light slope lift or small hills. The testing for this model was done on a 30 foot hill in a park and on a small berm at the beach.  The wing will fly at about 5 mph and penetrates in winds to 25 mph. It will high start with a light high-start bungee. The THL is NOT a combat or bungee launch airplane. The design objectives were to make a rugged low cost, light weight wing for light slope lift, thermal and hand launch. applications. The performance envelope includes hand launch, high start, and light slope lift.
